Workshop Information

workshops
some of the workshops will be held here

At PuppetFest MidWest, your all inclusive registration fee includes your choice of one of our 20-hour workshops on various aspects of live puppet theatre performance. Each intensive 20 hour workshop is spread over a four day period and led by experienced, professional puppeteers from around the world.

Why such long workshops? The first PuppetFest MidWest festival workshops were 16 hours, and festival attendees asked for them to be even longer. Instead of short workshops that give you a "taste" of a subject; these workshops will give you intensive hands-on experience and guidance from top puppetry professionals.

Please note that for some workshops, an additional fee may be charged for supplies required. This fee will go directly to the workshop leader. Upon receipt of your fully paid registration, you will receive a registration packet containing information about the workshops and any possible supply fees.

Workshop participants spend each morning in their workshop, enjoy special events in the afternoon, and attend main stage performances every evening. We end the week with a "show-and-tell" where everyone shares and/or performs what they have created.

SELECT YOUR PUPPETFEST MIDWEST INTENSIVE WORKSHOP

The emphasis of PuppetFest MidWest is on workshops that are in-depth and intensive. These workshops will provide 20 hours of instruction in small groups led by experienced, professional puppeteers. Workshops will be held from Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (with coffee breaks and lunch breaks). We will have a “Show and Tell” Recital on Saturday afternoon so that we can see what everyone else created during the week.

Please note that an additional fee may be charged for materials required for certain workshops. This fee will go directly to the workshop leader so that they may purchase materials in advance. Participants may also be asked to bring supplies with them to the workshop.
