Once you register, you will be mailed detailed transportation
information that will answer all your questions about flying or driving to the
festival.
Kids these days !
We have had so many requests from high school students wanting to attend PuppetFest MidWest that we have lowered our minimum age requirement to 16 years. If you turn 16 this year, even in the months after the Festival, you are still eligible to attend. Please note, however, that if you are under 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by a responsible, fully paid adult.

- Puppet Shows and Events Open to the Public:
Most of the activities at PuppetFest MidWest are designed for those who
have pre-registered and are attending the entire week. If you are interested in puppetry but not able to attend for the entire week, we invite you to join us for the following events.
Puppet Exhibit
Come to the Dorris Rider Art Gallery and see hand puppets, shadow puppets, rod puppets and marionettes from around the world, displayed with puppet scenery, props and posters.
Place an Ad in the Festival Book!
From professional performers to beginners, this independent annual festival is attracting a variety of puppetry enthusiasts,
some of whom have never before attended a puppetry event.
Each participant will receive a copy of our Festival Book, which will contain information on performers, performances and workshops.
Share with them the diversity of available puppetry experiences. We invite you to place an ad in our Festival Book. The pages are standard letter size ( 8 1/2 by 11 inches). Everyone who places an ad will receive a copy of the Festival Book.

Puppet Exhibit Information
As usual, Phillip Huber will be organizing the Puppet Exhibit, at the Dorris Rider Art Gallery. Bring puppets from your collection, posters, or scenery and be a part of this year's PuppetFest MidWest Puppet Exhibit. Watch the curators jump with joy when you bring your own puppet stands.
Raffle!
It is becoming a tradition that PuppetFest MidWest has a raffle that just won’t quit! In 2003 it featured posters, puppets, an original watercolor painting by Leon Van Weelden, collectible puppet memorabilia donated by Evey Brown and Gayle Schluter and a shadow puppet stage donated by Jim Napolitano. In 2004, Lettie Connell Schubert donated 3 masks by Margo Rose, puppet books, a foam puppet built by Drew Allison fresh out of that week’s workshop, toy theaters and videos. In 2005 we had books from Bev London and puppet ephemera from Nancy Fawcett. 2006 featured a fantastic marionette hand crafted by Raldal Metz and a Steve Shutt designed Boyd's Bear. Get ready to win something wonderful this year!
If you have something you would like to add to the raffle, bring it with you to the festival or mail it to the festival PO box (PO Box 14, Jamesport, MO 64648). All money raised will help fund future festivals.
Swap and Shop
Bring your puppetry items to the Puppetry Flea Market (where someone else's trash is your next show!) All paid-in-full Festival Registrants are entitled to a space, free of charge, for one special afternoon to swap and show puppet books, costume and other puppet debris. Bring an extra suitcase for all the goodies you'll get.
The Open Space
You have to be seen to be remembered. One of the ways to become known in the puppetry community is for other puppeteers to see your work. If you would like to try out a full-length performance (or any other idea), we've got the Open Space for you. We provide the room, time, electricity and audience - you do the rest. When you register for this year's festival, please let us know if you would like to perform in the Open Space. We will print your publicity in the Festival Registration packet. In years past, we were treated to Ann and George Neff’s toy theatre performance of “The Cure - A Gothic Melodrama” by Robert Poulter as well as Keith Shubert's version of "The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari". We also had a most unusual in-house production of “The Temptation of St. Anthony”. Who knows what this year will bring? There are only four slots available, so contact us now and reserve your Open Space!
Bits and Pieces Cabaret
Share an old favorite or try out something new at your late night "open mike" night, hosted by the devilishly handsome Nick Barone.
